Trey Grayson
Trey Grayson is a partner in the Florence office of FBT Gibbons, where he serves as co-leader of the firm’s Lobbying & Public Policy practice group.
A collaborative leader and strategic problem solver, Trey advises clients at the local, state, and national levels on navigating complex government, legal, political, and regulatory challenges. In Frankfort, he and his colleagues represent a diverse group of clients, including Aflac, the Kentucky Association of Manufacturers, the Kentucky County Clerks Association, and the Innocence Project.
Nationally recognized for his expertise in election administration, Trey frequently advises corporations, associations, policymakers, media organizations, and election officials. He has contributed to several initiatives aimed at improving election systems, including service on the bipartisan Presidential Commission on Election Administration.
Trey previously served two terms as Kentucky’s Secretary of State and was, at the time of his election, the youngest Secretary of State in the nation. During his tenure, he also served as President of the National Association of Secretaries of State and Chair of the Republican Association of Secretaries of State.
Following his public service, Trey was Director of Harvard University’s Institute of Politics from 2011 to 2014. He later returned to Kentucky as President and CEO of the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce.
Earlier in his career, Trey practiced law with Greenebaum Doll & McDonald and Keating, Muething & Klekamp, focusing on estate planning and administration, real estate, small business, and taxation.
Trey and his wife, Nancy, live in Boone County, Kentucky, and have two daughters, Alex and Kate.
