Mailing List Request

For Members Membership Information and Requests Mailing List Request
 

The KBA membership list will be provided, upon request, for one-time mailing purposes as described in this policy.

Mailing Lists can be provided to: 

  • Board of Governor candidates for the purpose of furnishing information concerning their qualifications for the position
  • Chairs (or officers) of sections or divisions to communicate with section or division members on activities
  • Current members of the Board of Governors, of their respective districts, for purposes of local bar outreach
  • Providers of Kentucky approved CLE credit (KY CLE activity number required)
  • Volunteer lawyer groups for recruitment
  • Nonpartisan judicial candidate so long as a requesting judicial candidate has filed appropriate election papers
  • KBA-endorsed companies, local bar associations, and law schools

The list is not provided to any candidate, whether lawyer or layperson, for any other political office.

Appeals of denial of use can be reviewed by the Board of Governors.

Telephone numbers are not included in the membership mailing list. Addresses and email addresses of those members who currently request this information to be kept private and whose applications for privacy have been approved under KBA procedures will not be provided.

Restrictions on Use

  • One Use: Approved users may use the KBA membership list only for the purpose for which it was requested. Users shall not copy the list or any portion thereof or retain any information without prior approval of the KBA. Users shall not at any time permit mailing list information to pass into the hands of any other person, association, organization, company or other entity without the prior approval of the KBA. All approved users will be asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement.
  • Mailing and Email Purposes Only: KBA membership lists shall be made available to the user for distribution of materials to KBA members by mail or email only and shall not be used for telephone or in-person contact.
  • General Restrictions: KBA membership lists shall not be used to distribute material that would be false, deceptive, or misleading.
