NLP - Upcoming Program Information

The New Lawyer Program (NLP) is offered twice each educational year; once in the winter, and once in the summer in conjunction with the Kentucky Bar Association’s Annual Convention.

All new members of the Kentucky Bar are required to attend and complete the New Lawyer Program within 12 months of being admitted.
The program is offered free of charge for attorneys seeking to fulfill their New Lawyer Program requirement.

All new members are required to complete the New Lawyer Program unless granted an exemption.

The winter offering of the New Lawyer Program will be on Friday, January 23, 2026, at the Hilton Lexington/Downtown. It consists of one day of in-person sessions and a second day via on-demand programming. On-demand programming must be completed by Friday, February 13, 2026. Registration will be available at the link below in Fall 2025.

The next summer program will be offered in conjunction with the 2026 KBA Annual Convention on June 11-12, 2026, at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center in Covington. On Thursday, June 11, registrants must attend all New Lawyer Program sessions. On Friday, June 12, registrants must attend general sessions through the KBA Annual Convention. Attendees of the summer program at Annual Convention are not eligible to complete the on-demand sessions. Registration opens on April 1, 2026.
